The first of three main components of A2 controller  is aluminum  chassis or case. It is available in three sizes: 4, 8 and 14 slots. Each case in a standard configuration has a passive ISA bus and source of the power supply of 220V. Optional power can be supplied by 12 V or 24 V DC. Chassis are made of precision CNC technology and high quality chrome aluminum profile.

Solid construction makes this box model largely resistant to vibration, so A2 can be installed in rail cars, ships and other mobile objects or mobile transport assets. Good electro-mechanical solutions allow A2 use in many military applications. Its 19" version with 14 or 20 slots is suitable for installation in industrial rack cabinet.

The commercial version A2 is resistant to electro-magnetic radiation and interference of medium to high intensity. In typical applications A2 is built in a metal cabinet, and this may be an additional protection against interference. If A2 can be installed in a contaminated environment we recommend using model A2-EMC which provides a higher level of resistance to radio interference and magnetene. This variant may be more expensive 10 to 30% of the standard version.

A2 case with four slots

The case with 4 ISA slots can form a system with up to 96 digital I / O, 48 analog input channels, 24 analog output channels, 36 counters or mix of these

I / O functions. This the smallest A2 is ideal Ethernet controller for distributed system monitoring, data acquisition, measurement and process control, then as remote telemetry stations, or as a stand-alone PC controller with local SVGA or TFT monitor. The power supply is 220V. Options: 12 V DC or 24V are available.

Rightmost slot is designed to install the processor module, and the remaining three slots are reserved for I / O modules and other functional enlargments. On the front side of the controller, not filled, empty slots are covered by the so-called Al front panels for unused slots.
 

A2 case with eight slots

The case for A2 forms industrial PC with 8 ISA slots for applications with a maximum capacity of 224 digital I / O, 112 analog input channels, 56 analog output channels, 84 counters or mix of these I / O functions. This A2 is suitable for more complex measurement systems and process control, data acquisition, or as a ethernet controller of distributed system. It can be used as a standalone local  PC controller with SVGA or TFT monitor for monitoring, data acquisition, measurement and process control. The power supply is 220V AC or 24V DC for optional.

On the front side of the controller, not filled, empty slots are covered by the so-called Al front panels for unused slots. Rightmost slot is designed for the processor module, and the remaining seven are reserved for I / O modules and other functional enlargments.

A2 case with fourteen slots

This case is 19 inches measured and  forms A2 controller with 14 ISA slots and a maximum of 416 digital, 208 analog input channels, 104 analog output channels, 156 counters or mix of these I / O functions. A2 with this box is suitable for complex systems of measurement and process control, data acquisition, and using in distributed and redundant control systems. This type of chassis is designed for wall mounting or for mounting in a rack-cabinet of 19 ". The power supply is 220V.

Rightmost slot is designed to install the processor module, and the remaining 13 slots for I / O modules and other functional expansions. Empty, not filled slots are covered with Aluminum panels for unused slots.

In the box with 20 slots (pictured right) the rightmost slot is designed to install the power supply source. Processor module can be installed in 17-th slot and physically occupies three slots. The remaining 16 slots are for I / O modules and other functional enhancements.

The power supply unit

The power supply (PSU) is modular, so that enabled easy installation, access and replacement. There are three sources of power. The first PSU is in the standard delivery and it is specially developed for A2. It has a PFC and output of 200W. The power supply voltage is from 85 to 265V AC, 50 Hz. The second type of sources can be ordered as an option. It has an output power of 100W and the voltage is 24 V. The third type of power operates using 12V and has a power of 60 W. For example, it can work with one battery of 12 V. It is intended only for the smallest type chassis with 4 slots.
